May Roundtable will be our Program Launch. There will be tables covering many aspects of the Scouting program including Cub Camping, NYLT, Woodbadge, University of Scouting, Popcorn, Advancement and many others.
The Voice of the Scout surveys are being delivered into email inboxes of parents, Scouts & Venturers over 14, volunteers and chartered organizations. Surveys will stay open for three weeks, and then information will be referenced for making key decisions to drive Scouting forward, as guided by the people that matter most - our members. It will be a continuous program, in that we will launch these surveys twice per year, with no household receiving more than one survey every six months.
BeAScout.org is a website with a Google map application that helps potential Scouts and their parents locate Scouting units in their area. Unit leaders, Committee Chairs, and Charter Reps have an important role to play in connecting potential Scouts with their units. Unit leaders are able to update their unit's Google"pin" (the bubble you see on Google maps) through MyScouting.org. Unit leaders can add their unit meeting time and location, unit website, and a contact name, email address, and phone number. If this information is updated, the website enables interested parents to email questions to unit leaders. Full instructions can be found in the April and May Newsletter.
Does your unit have a Religious Emblem Program? Every unit should and if yours does, and you believe it is successful, let us know about it. Some of our units could use some guidance in getting theirs off the ground or simply improving the one they have. I’d like to pass along some tips from the more successful programs in our district. Regardless of church affiliation, there is a medal that each Scout can earn and what they learn while doing it can have a lasting effect on themselves and their participation in Scouting. Contact Mark Murray if you would like to share what your unit has done.

Journey to Excellence has several different objectives with specific requirements for Packs, Troops, Crews, Team, and, yes, even District and Council. One of the requirements is to participate in service projects. In order to get credit for the service projects, you need to log your JTE Service hours online. To help, here are step by step instructions for logging your hours online.
If you need more information, please get in touch with your District Executive.
Do you know someone willing to help our district? We have some open positions we’d like to fill so that we provide the needed outreach to our units and put more of the focus on our Scouts and our programs. We especially need unit commissioners and assistance district commissioners. Give names and contact information of an individual you believe would be willing to help to David Evans.

Scoutmasters and Cubmasters, David Evans is asking for the dates of all Court of Honors and Blue and Golds so they can put them on their calendars. They would like to come by and see how things are going.
